Wool Hub New for 2025
12th May 2025
The Wool Hub at NSA Welsh Sheep 2025 will showcase the versatility and sustainability of wool. It will feature products and inspirational ideas from British Wool, as well as from artisan Welsh manufacturers. These include Chilcott, The Woollen Cwtch Company, Melin Tregwyn and Cambrian Wool.
British Wool Head of Member Engagement, Gareth Jones, said: “We very much looking forward to NSA Welsh Sheep, a key event in our calendar over the summer months.
“Welsh Sheep is always an excellent event enabling us to engage with our sheep farmer members in Wales on all to do with British Wool. It’s encouraging to see the continuing interest by many manufacturers in using wool from Wales and some of these will be displaying at the event.”
Innovative products on display will also include wool insulation from Wool Insulation Wales and Rhug Estate insulated meat boxes. Host sheep farmer and British Wool board member, Penny Chantler, will also be sharing her ideas and passion for wool.
She will be available at a Question & Answer session, along with Suzi Park of the Welsh Wool Yarn Project. The project is a collaboration of farmers, local grading depots and manufacturers, who create beautiful yarns, while preserving Welsh heritage and supporting rural economies.
A Shearing Gear Demo during the day is sure to prove popular. There will also be the results of a primary school competition in which children in the area designed a jumper. Entries will be on display at the hub and the winning entry will be announced on the day.
Ladies from the local guild will also do some spinning demonstrations.
