PROGRAMME OF EVENTS – NSA Welsh Sheep 2025

8.00am Sheepdog Trial – two sessions with 80 dogs entered this will take place at

Tregoyd, organized by Kevin Evans Until 4.00pm.

8.30am Judging of the best trade stand and best sheep breed society stand along with

the Wool on the Hoof competition.

9.00am Gates open to public.

9.00am Trade stands and sheep Breed Society Stands open to the public.

9.00am Stockjudging Competition: Taking place on Talybont Welsh Stand

with cash prizes to be won.

9.00am Next Generation Shepherd Competition - watch the Welsh young shepherds of

the future sort finishing lambs for slaughter, demonstrate handling, vaccinating

and dosing techniques, shearing and putting an ATV through its paces among

other things. Until 2.30pm. This will take place within the Farm Tour.

9.30am Demonstrations on various stands throughout the day.

10.00am Farm Tour to take in the spectacular views and livestock that the farm has to

offer. Wox will also provide a demonstration as part of the tour. Until 3.30pm.

10.30am Opening Ceremony with Huw Evans-Bevan from Tregoyd Estate

Seminar 1: 11.00am – 11.45am

Seeing sustainability through the lens of profitability.

11.00am Schools Arrive

Demonstrations 

11.00am Stick Making, Bolus, Handling systems and much more.

11.00am Welsh Sheep Dog Society – Demonstration will be repeated.

Wool Hub Programme 

11.00am onwards Meet British Wool Ambassadors, Gear Maintenance workshop and much more

Four licensees have confirmed their attendance to promote their brand and products:

• British Wool will have a stand in the area and will have a display of products.

• Spinning demos during the day.

• Gear demo

• Q & A - Suzi Park talk about the Welsh Yarn Project

11.00am Announce the winner of the best indoor and outdoor trade stands; best sheep

breed stand and Best Wool on the Hoof to take place at the Opening Ceremony.

Seminar 2: 12.00pm – 1.00pm

Improving sheep farming profitability and sustainability through genetics and nutrition.

Seminar 3: 1.15pm – 2.00pm

How sheep health diagnostics and monitoring can boost profitability.

Seminar 4: 2.15pm – 3.00pm

Can the WG Sustainable Farming Scheme help improve whole farm profitability and sustainability.

4.00pm Presentation of prizes for the Welsh Next Generation Young Shepherd of the Year

Texel Stand.

5.00pm Event closes.

6.30pm Shearing with a difference. Teams to ride a bike and shear a sheep.
